Geofibre Pty Ltd is a company that provides the installation, commissioning and maintenance for optic fibre and wideband services across Victoria. Before this year I was working as a leading hand, scheduler and tech specialist for Victoria, dealing with staff on the GWIP, Mobile Base Stations, 3GIS mobiles, IP Data network and wideband projects across Victoria. My experience over a 13 year period with Telstra/NDC (internal and external plant) and another 4 years with Silcar Communications has allowed me to supply excellent customer service with the ability to lead a team, work as a part of team, or on my own, and act (temporary) in positions above my own. Telstra/NDC has given me a wide knowledge base and experience with many different technologies, telephone systems, staff, contractors and customers. I began working for Telstra’s F.D.C (Fault Dispatch Centre) in the Clayton Area (Melbourne) in 1990. My responsibility was fault finding, maintenance and installing small PABX’s, Commander Systems, payphones and normal Telephone systems. Later working in the Customer Wideband area (Gippsland Region), hauling, constructing, Installation & Maintenance, testing and commissioning of systems such as; Transmission, E1, STM-1, ISDN, On-ramp30, large and small Pair Gain Systems, Alarms, HDSL & SHDSL, PDH Mux's, SDH (including Sitelite, VCTS & OMS) systems, DC power systems, Copper cables, Fibre and Batteries. While working for Silcar Comms, I had the opportunity to configure, install, test and commission CISCO Switches, Routers and OMC’s, later becoming a team leader/lead technician looking after 6 technicians for the wideband project across Victoria. I have also worked on the Foxtel Digital Migration Project with Tyco Pty Ltd, installing Cable TV and upgrading the customer’s service from analog to Digital, also providing a phone connection for Foxtel’s Box Office Movies.
